Testing Principle
The Urinary Metabolic Profile is a simple urine assessment that tests on 36 organic acids’ level in 8 groups with the advance testing technique offered by US BioTek Laboratories.
Reliable and Convenient Sample Collection
The test requires the first morning urine sample on a Dip ‘N Dry collection strip provided in the kit. Your body's organic acid levels can be well-defined with this sample collection.
State-of-the-Art Testing Technology
SSample will be sent to our Laboratories in United States for analysis through precise technology - Gas Chromatography/ Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and Liquid Chromatography/ Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) together. GS/MS is the golden standard for analyzing volatile metabolites in organic acid test, where LC/MS/MS is able to analyze the least volatile or thermally-unstable metabolite in organic acid test. US BioTek Laboratories incorporate both the GC/MS and LC/MS/MS instruments for analysis urinary test, hence to provide the most accuracy and specific result during the analysis.
Another advance technology is the development of Dip ‘N Dry collection strip. The native of liquid urine provide a poor stability, as it can easily degrade by the environment. As the result, the liquid collection must storage in a low temperature and stable area. However, the freeze-thaw cycle between transportation may discourage the quality of urine sample. Hence, the Dip ‘N Dry collection strip with a special kit which able to dry the sample quickly, creating a longer stability in storage and transportation in room temperature condition for 55 days. A validation of the Dip ‘N Dry collection strip was performed by US BioTek Laboratories. As the result compare to a fresh liquid urine sample, Dip ‘N Dry collection strip provide approximately 100% of the liquid urine value (r² of 0.997), proven the dried urine strip can provide a great stability and great recovery of the analytes. The Dip ‘N Dry collection strips can be stable in room temperature for 55 days if they are desiccated.
In conclusion, UMP is the superior choice of organic test as it provides a more accurate result and long stability.
